My debut EP is officially submitted for distribution, and now all that’s left is the waiting game. While I sit tight, I wanted to give you a sneak peek into what you can expect from this project - without spoiling too much! When the EP is live on Spotify and I can claim my profile for the first time (yay), I'll go more in-depth with each track then.
What Inspired the EP?
I had taken a big break from music to focus on other things and hobbies, like fiction story writing and other life responsibilities and duties that took up my time and energy. But in late 2024, I had newfound energy and curiosity for making more music again. There wasn't a single specific thing or moment that inspired me, I just wanted to get back into it, feeling fresh and brushing up on skills I hadn't used in a while.
The Sound & Vibe:
JERSEY CLUB. For the past decade or so, I've loved Jersey Club music, and I'm so glad to see it have a new surge in popularity in recent years. However, this EP puts a new spin on it, blending the classic club sound with elements of other genres such as House/EDM, RnB, HipHop/trap, and a little Kpop inspiration even.
How much did I actually make myself?
Essentially everything. I produced all of the instrumentals from scratch in Soundtrap, wrote all of the lyrics on my own, most of the main vocals were performed by Suno voices and others are real loops (stay tuned for a familiar popular artist who lent their real vocals to Soundtrap for producers like me to use🤫), and I used Bandlab's services to mix and master the final tracks. I also used my minor background in graphic design to make all of the concept art and the final EP cover art myself. All with a less-than-great quality laptop, an echoey bedroom, a cheap pair of earbuds, and hard work and effort.
What You Hope Listeners Will Take Away:
As long as these sounds and noises I've created makes you dance, or inspires you to write your own lyrics too, or you get goosebumps, that's all I can hope for. This is simply a passion project where I'm in it for the music, not money or popularity, and I hope others can attempt to do the same thing with their passions and just have fun.
